Task description:

Do you believe everything you see offline and online ?. This term Room 3 is looking at things online that are real/fake or true/false. Some things that are online make us think twice so that's why we critically examine. When searching things online like Instagram, Tiktok and other social medias remember to search more into it and also remember don't always believe things that come up!!.

Today our class looked at a poetry. We learned that poetry's don't use chapters we also learn that poetry's can cause us to see pictures in our mind.

Today for Te Reo we learnt some new Maori words. Our phrase for today was Ki te aha? which means What For . We answered each questions in each slide in Maori. We then had to answer by saying Kei te haere au ki __? and then put in the word like Kura which means school. Then we had to answer with Ki te __ and then put in a like Akona which means learn. At the end we had to do a create task. Hope you enjoy !.

Today we had a Te reo Maori meet. We learnt some country names in Maori. We filled in the answers in the questions and also learnt how to say the names of the countrys.

Today we learnt some new things about what Maori people do while they go to the marae. We had to fill in some questions and also do our create task at the end.

Today we had our Te reo meet. We learnt some names of food with our teacher. We filled in the questions and made our own create task at the end!.

Today I decided to work on maths. The task I chose to work on was Two way probability tables. I had to fill in the answers and also do a little test at the end!.  

100 word writing

 

On a sunny day, my family and I went to a theme park! As we entered the entrance, we saw a multiple of rides to choose from. Everything appeared to be entertaining, and everyone appeared to be having a good time. As we walked around the park looking for more rides, we noticed some cool super hero statues on the roofs of the shops.We continued walking and saw a tall roller coaster that looked very scary and like it would give us butterflies, as we rode the roller coaster, it went up high and we all yelled, "ITS GOING DOWNNNNN!!!"

Today in our literacy class we had to write an 100 word writing about any picture.

Today we had Te reo and we learnt about What does it cost? in Maori.

Ko wai ō hoa?

 

Today for Te Reo Maori we learnt some phrases on Ko wai ō hoa? which Who are your friends?. We went through some phrases 2 and then we went on filling the answers in slide 5 to 7. Then we had to create our own create task!. 

Tuvalu maths

 

Today for our maths task we did some Tuvalu Maths. What we did in this task was x-axis y-axis, length and width, and also graphs.

Tuvaluan language week!

 

This week it is Tuvaluan language week so we are learning things about Tuvaluan language. Our first task for today was to translate the English words on the left side to Tuvaluan words. 

Tongan Language Week

 

Last week it was Tongan Language Week and we were set on a task to make something that was Tongan. I decided to make a kahoot that had questions about Tongan culture. I even got to present it to my class, and they were all really competitive. You can even try my kahoot by clicking on slide 7 .It was really hard to find the answers to the questions. Figurative Language

 

Today for our literacy task we learnt about "Figurative Language", figurative language is all about metaphor,similes, hyperbole and other things. We watched a video all together and throughout the movie it had some questions on what figurative language we should pick for some sentences the characters said in the video. Then for our task we had to fill in the gaps for each of these sentences and explain some of them!. I hope you enjoy my work and feel free to comment!.

Crime Scene

 

Today I joined room 4's maths class. We did a Crime Scene all together online. We had to figure the answers for the questions and also figure out the clues. We had to find out who was the suspect of the crime. We used Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction and also Division. I hope you enjoyed and learnt something from this!.

Confidence in Coordinates

 

Today for our maths task we had more work about Coordinates. We had to find where the places coordinates were and on the second slide we had to do Coordinates of translation like the x axis and the y axis. Toku Whakapapa

 

Today we had our Te Reo Maori meeting. Today for our task we had to fill in the gaps with our Papa,Mama,Kuia and Koro's names, but first of all we had to learn the words on slide 2 so that we were able to do our create task. On the last slide is me saying my parents and their parents which are my grandma and and my grandpa. I hope you enjoyed my Te Reo Maori work today and I hope you learnt something from it!.

Hero Documents

 Jesus is an hero to many people and he has done so many things for people that have been suffering  and many other reasons. Jesus is a lovely/loving and caring person to many of us. So in my opinion Jesus is my hero because..

Reason 1: Jesus sacrificed his life on the cross for us and died for our sins and Jesus sacrificed his life on the cross for us and died for our sins.

Reason 2: Jesus is a loving and caring person, Why? Well you may know that Jesus hates sinning right?, but yet Jesus cared for the sinners and sat down and ate with them and it tells us in Mark 2:13-17.

Reason 3:Jesus has healed many people that were sick and even suffering and . In Mark 8:22-26 it tells us that Jesus healed a blind man and in Mark 7:31-37 it also says that Jesus healed a man who was deaf and muted.

Now that you have listened to my speech and about my hero. Now you know that Jesus is my number one hero and that he has done a lot of things for us. If  Jesus didn’t come and sacrifice his life for us we wouldn’t be on this earth right now. Is Jesus one of your heroes? .I do have many other heroes like my mum,dad or even my siblings, but Jesus is my number one hero because he has done so many things for me in my life and he has sacrificed his life for us, but other than that thank you for listening to my speech and remember Jesus loves you!.

Kei hea Koe?

 

This week we had Te Reo Maori. We learned all about different words in Maori. We had to come up with our own sentences to fill in the blank boxes and search up things like tables, chairs, fences, and other things in Maori. Then at the end, we had to create our own create task!.

Drama Class

 

Today the whole of team 5 got a choice to pick which group they wanted to go to. I picked drama because I wanted to try something new. Today we learnt all about drama and what is drama, we learnt that drama is like radio plays, stage play , telly plays and other plays that you can name or think of. what we did for today was Miss Hill picked out different emotions that we had to do and the topic we had to do the emotion about. One topic was " when your friend gives you a big surprise" we had to show our emotions of happiness, but then the topic changed it was " but then when you dig into your surprise and found out it was only a earring from the 2 dollar store" we had to act out what we thought about that. At the end of our session we also played a song and danced to it and showed our emotion and froze to the song. Today's drama class was so fun and also funny. I hope we get to do more of this next week !!.

Algebra

 

Today I had finish one of my maths work. This work is all about BED MAS which stands for B=Brackets E=Exponents D=Divide M=Multiplication A=Addition S=Subtraction. We had to figure out the answers for these question. It was hard but also sort of easy. 

Speeches

 

While in school room 4 literacy class made speeches to convince our teacher on which pet we should get for our class pet. My speech was about a dog, many other people in my class also choose dogs to other talked about other animals. DMIC Algebra

 

Since we are in lock down, me and my friends haven't gotten the chance to finish our Algebra work, but since we had our google meet at 10:30  we have finally gotten to finish it. My group's strategy was to keep adding different numbers together that added up to the yellow number. This problem work only took us about 4-5 minutes. Reading - How cars changed our world

 

Task Description:
Today for reading we read a book called "How cars changed our world". This book was all about the first car that was bought into New Zealand. We also learnt about who owned the first car , how they travelled to places before cars were made and how fast their cars were. We also learnt new words and what they mean and also we had to answer some questions.

Today for reading we read a book named "Stand Up!". This book is all about how people disagree with globalisation and how poor people are being treated like salves. A lot of countries rules have changed, a lot of family's have to be treated likes salves just so they can eat and a lot of languages are dying out. We also learnt about a thing called the "OREO", as you can see on the right it tells you what OREO is all about!.

The Solar System

Task Description: 

Today for Inquiry I learnt all about the solar system. I found some interesting facts and also things I really wanted to know about our solar system. If your'e wondering what is a "solar system", the solar system is when all the planets orbit around the sun. The reason for the planets to orbit around the sun is not because they need light, it's because the sun gives the planets gravity which makes them to orbit. This is our last chapter of the novel and our whole class has finished a novel!. This part is all about phil running to Daniels house. He gives the jacket to Daniel and work things out. Fiafia@pes 2021

 

Last night at 5:30 our school had our Fiafia night. Everyone performed really well. There was a lot of cheering,shouting,dancing,singing and the most important thing smiling. Everyone was really really amazing well performing their item. We all had fun watching our friends perform and the year 8's and the year 7's all really enjoyed their last FiaFia with each other.

 I will like to thank Miss Timmi and Mr Wright for teaching us the dance and for staying up to do our customs and other things for the night and for organising us last night. I would also like to thank Mr Burt, Mr Jacobson and Mr Somerville for making this FiaFia happen for us tonight. Kauaeranga Valley Christian Camp

 

For our work, we had to reflect on what we did at camp last week on Wednesday. It was really fun we didn't want to come back. We did all sorts of different things at camp. In the photo, you can see things we did, had, and done. My favorite highlight was the camp search. We did it so fast we beat the record which was 23 mins but my team did it in 14 mins. I loved camp so much I wish to go there sometime again.

 Today in literacy class our teacher set us up on a challenge. We split into 8 different groups. Our challenge was to try and build the tallest tower out of pipe cleaners. Our norms we use were Participate,partnership, protection and communication. We all worked as a team and made a great tower !.

The white things on the bottom and next to the tree is the snow and wind.

Why did you choose your colours?

I choose these colours because it just looked cool with a black picture on it and it would match with the white paint.

What would you do differently next time?

Digital Noho is a practise meeting in case we go into lock down. Our task we did was Trip Around the World. We had to pick a country. The country I picked was Hawaii. The reason for that is because I love Hawaii and when I grow up I want to visit Hawaii and also if I visit Hawaii I would already know things about Hawaii. Hope you all enjoy my task!
